Trying on a swimsuit while pregnant should be fun; it may be the only time in your life you don't need to suck in your belly! Here are some shopping tips from designer Lisa Curran, who started her very own maternity-swimwear line when pregnant with her first child:
Wait to shop: By your second trimester you'll be showing enough to know which style will feel most comfortable.
Demand support: Consider halter styles that you can adjust comfortably to your bust and back. A shelf bra offers optimal support.
Check fit: Make sure bikini bottoms fit under the belly and are slightly higher in the back for proper coverage. And confirm that elastic bands on legs and around the belly won't bind too tightly and dig into your skin.
Consider a tankini: You can lift the top up to get sun on your tummy or wear it down for more coverage.
