Anna Z and Ilya Lagutenko
Talk about a glam couple
Russian rocker Ilya Lagutenko—featured alongside his model-wife Anna Z. in our December/January '09 fashion story "Big Night Out"—got his musical start at a young age singing in a children's choir. He founded the band Mumiy Troll in 1983. Moscow News Weekly says Lagutenko's education as a linguist explains the band's quality of lyrics, which it called "games with words and sounds." His most recent success came in June 2008 when Lagutenko and the band recorded a song for the animation film Kung-Fu Panda and the score for one of the characters. For more information, go to the band's official web site at mumiytroll.com/en.
