Parenthood is Rough on a Marriage
Getting along with someone else when you’re tired and there’s a shrieking person on the floor is near impossible. Then there’s the lack of time to ever talk about anything (see above, re: tired, and the shrieking). But parenthood also strengthens my relationship with Aaron. Not just because we’re both so gaga for Leo, but also because sharing our life with someone who regularly pours entire sippy cups of water onto himself is a great exercise in just letting things happen. I’m beginning to appreciate how that unconditional love for our sloppy life achieves at least as much as a long, leisurely conversation.
Note: Mom Appetit will continue with short updates every Tuesday through March. I'll be writing full-length posts with recipes for another year starting in April. Please share your thoughts in the comments or email your recipes to firstname.lastname@example.org.
