Remind Me of All This in February
07.15.11 Leo is: ridiculously officious
It’s hot. Last Saturday we went to a barbecue and I brought grain salad (see recipe—it was devoured before the hot dogs were cooked, and as you may know, hot dogs are pre-cooked). Then we went to a concert. At a bar. Bless Matt Bauder for playing an awesome 5pm set at Barbes, and continuing to play it even when Leo, mid-clarinet-solo, announced rather loudly “I think I may be hungwy.”
It’s hot and sunny. On Sunday, we celebrated Aaron’s birthday by traipsing over the bridge for dim sum, then visiting my mom’s studio to see her paintings, make our own paintings, then eventually play a rollicking game of paddle ball in the hall. We finished up by picnicking under the bridge with pie, ice cream and beer.
It’s hot. It’s July. We wear water shoes, we freeze juice on sticks, we all smell like sun lotion and I know we are very very lucky.
