Leo is losing interest in being spoonfed (and if you’ve tried it recently, you can probably relate—it’s very frustrating having to sit there and wait for each bite). This is nice because he’s starting to eat real food: chicken, noodles, carrots, broccoli, peas, cheese, rice cakes, pear, tofu, the occasional lima bean. But it also makes it clear who’s in charge: Leo. Instead of the all-providing Mamma, I feel like a supplicant, humbly approaching the King in his Fisher Price throne and offering choice morsels, a slight stoop in my walk, because you never know when you’re going to get beaned with a chickpea.
