Fit Pregnancy's parent company American Media Inc. has made a generous contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help provide food, shelter, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
If you would like to help, you can send cash donations to American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or here are five other places that are also accepting donations:
- America's Second Harvest
Seeks donations of food, transportation, and products (bottled water, utensils, bleach, disinfecting household cleaning items, and diapers).
United Way Hurricane Katrina Response Fund
All funds will be allocated for both front-line disaster relief and long-term recovery needs as determined by local United Ways in affected areas.
Habitat for Humanity Hurricane Katrina Response
Habitat for Humanity International has announced an emergency appeal for funds to help low-income families in the affected areas recover and rebuild housing.
The Humane Society of the United States
Pets aren't the only animal victims of Katrina's wrath; the storm's toll on farm and zoo inhabitants appears massive.
National Trust 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund
Communities will eventually face the daunting task of assessing damage, repairing infrastructure and making plans for the future. Donations to the National Trust for Historic Preservation will support assessment teams, assist small businesses and provide grant monies to organizations on the ground in affected communities.
