I’m not one for making New Year’s resolutions. I’ve never been convinced that saying “I’m doing x, y and z” in the month of January makes me more apt to do it. But what I do like doing in the first month of a new year is taking stock of what I’ve accomplished over the past year—what worked and what didn’t; what was super fun and what sucked. It’s a good way for me to see that I actually have gotten some things done, both significant and small, and that little steps do, in the best cases, result in big strides.
This blog was one of those small steps, and I was curious to see after a full year of writing about being a working mom, what resonated most with fitpregnancy.com readers. It turns out that breastfeeding, baby gear and my decision to start exercising again took the top three spots. Not far behind was a piece about giving up control and, of course, what working mom’s year would be complete without a little guilt?
I, too, liked each of those posts but my favorite one by far, and the one that got the most feedback, was my post about how much I love my son. I got ‘likes’ from both moms and dads and even one comment that said, “I know exactly how that feels.” It seems love does trump all—and what better way to end the old year and start anew than with a whole lotta l.o.v.e.
