More people are turning to the Web during this financial crisis to trade for what they need or what they want. For expectant moms, one such place is Maternity Ave., a new website dedicated to the buying and selling of gently used maternity clothing. For baby clothes, there's Hand-Me-Downs. This website (a la Craigslist) pulls together affordability, recycling and the goal of scoring used baby clothes at a low price.

Over at Cool Mom Picks, they've got a list of "thoughtful, high-quality gifts that last." The site also aims to help support smaller independent companies, plus moms working from home.

Why not go handmade? The online handmade marketplace Etsy has thousands of items available in its gift guide.
