Month 8 (weeks 29-32)

Your Body
You're most likely feeling some Braxton Hicks contractions (the uterus tightens for about 10 to 30 seconds and then returns to normal; they aren't as regular or painful as labor pains and don't get stronger or closer together over time). As your uterus becomes more cramped, baby's kicks don't seem as forceful as in past months. You may start to feel more fatigued now, and your breasts may leak a little.

Your Mood
The countdown is on. You're eager to meet your new baby--and getting a bit tired of being pregnant. Work and all topics not related to pregnancy seem irrelevant--a very normal mindset for a very pregnant woman.

Your Baby
At the end of this month, your baby will weigh about 5 pounds and be about 15 to 17 inches long, the size of a small cat. The layer of downy lanugo on his skin starts to fall off. Lungs are more developed--so much so that most babies born at this stage can survive outside the womb.
