Add this name to the list: Bronx.
The latest celebrity baby name comes via musician couple Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, who welcomed baby boy Bronx Mowgli last week in Los Angeles, Celebrity-Babies.com reports. And everyone seems to have an opinion about it.
Naming children after cities and locations is not new, according to ABC News, but it seems to be all the rage right now. Everyone remembers Brooklyn (thanks mega-couple David and Victoria Beckham); and of course, Zuma (singing star Gwen Stefani's newest addition to her family); and now Bronx. But believe me, the list is endless.
These days though, it seems like celebrities are really stretching their imaginations to come up with fresh and exotic monikers for their offspring. (Apple, anyone?) Over at People magazine, there's a poll under way asking: Which place makes the best baby name? I'm sure there are going to be some doozies.
Don't get me wrong, naming a baby must be one of the hardest things for parents. Especially because most parents-to-be want to be creative and meaningful. But then there's the flip-side, such as the dilemma that our Ask The Labor Nurse blogger Jeanne Faulkner poses in Let's Play: Name That Baby: Whether or not to share the name with other people before the birth.
Just remember, this is forever—or at least until the right nickname comes along.
