Swaddle your baby to keep her warm and cozy. Here's how.
Month 5 (weeks 17-20)
Your Body
You're definitely looking pregnant now. You may even boast that pregnancy "glow." You're putting on weight, mostly due to increased blood and other fluids as well as your growing fetus. By the end of this month, you may begin to feel your baby move. This is also when many women start wearing maternity clothes.
Your Mood
Don't be surprised if you start to experience "pregnancy brain" (aka "fuzzy brain"), which is characterized by the inability to remember simple words and tasks--or why they even matter! The mood swings you had in your first trimester have most likely abated, and you might be feeling excited and energized.
Your Baby
The fetus is now about 8 inches long, the size of a small bunny. Your baby's skin is protected by a waxy coating called vernix, and downy hairs called lanugo cover her body. Kidneys are producing urine, which is excreted into the amniotic fluid surrounding your baby.
