Just because some celebrity new mom seem to bounce back so quickly after given birth doesn't mean they didn't work hard to get there. See how they do it.
When you've recently given birth, few things are more disheartening than seeing some celebrity new mom looking trim and toned on the cover of a tabloid. But just because they seem to bounce back so quickly doesn't mean they didn't work hard to get there. One of their secret weapons? Garrett Warren, a personal trainer at Gold's Gym in Woodland Hills, Calif., who whipped Kate Hudson and Denise Richards, among others, back into photo-shoot shape.
While having a trainer lead grueling daily workouts helps (and often isn't an option for non-celebs), many of them get back in shape so quickly because they were fit and healthy before and during their pregnancy. "But if you take nine months of rest, getting back to the gym is an absolute battle," Warren says. Once Warren's clients get clearance from their doctor to exercise, he puts them on a core-strengthening workout that is a hybrid of Pilates, yoga and core stability moves. It's called ProperBodyExercise (or ProBodX, for short).
A typical 90-minute workout (remember: Looking good is a movie star's job!) starts off with kickboxing, then moves on to weights, 15 minutes of ProBodX moves and, finally, "killer" ab exercises, according to Warren. You can check out the program at probodx.com.
