Ever wondered where celebrities get their baby names? Well, sometimes they come from other celebrities. In the case of Rebecca Romijn, that celeb was Dolly Parton.
Have you ever wondered how celebrities come up with their children's names? If so, here's a story that might pique your interest: It turns out, Dolly Parton had a major hand in naming Rebecca Romijn's daughter.
Romijn appeared on The Today Show to discuss her work on the TV show The Librarians—but while she was there, she also shared a more personal anecdote.
"I've been a lifelong fan of Dolly Parton," the actress said. "She's just an amazing woman on so many levels."
When Romijn became pregnant with twins in 2008, she decided to name one of her children after Parton.
"When I was seven-and-a-half months pregnant, my best friend and I flew down to Dollywood and we got a chance to meet her and see her perform and I got to tell her I was going to name one of my daughters Dolly," Romijn said. "She seemed so genuinely touched."
But while the encounter may have confirmed Romijn's decision to name her daughter after Parton, the story doesn't end there.
"After I got home I got a letter from her in my mailbox on butterfly stationery that said 'I forgot to tell you when you were here, my middle name is Rebecca. You should name her Dolly Rebecca after the two of us together.' So I did," Romijn said.
Romijn welcomed her daughters Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip on December 28, 2008—but the actress still keeps that piece of butterfly stationery close at hand. "I still have it," Romijn said of the note. "I know exactly where it is."
