Popcorn on a bed of sauerkraut

What's a pregnant woman to do when she's hit with a craving for something so bizarre it's not available at any restaurant? According to Juarez Rodrigues and Vicky Jacob-Ebbinghaus, the team behind the project Eating For Two, she could always head into the kitchen and whip something up herself.

Eating For Two is an aptly-titled website-turned-cookbook that legitimizes all the crazy, kooky cravings pregnant women almost inevitably experience. The reader-submitted ideas in the book make the good old pickles-and-ice-cream routine seem downright ordinary. Take, for example, a two-ingredient orange-sushi dish that's served with a tomato sauce—or, if you prefer, a steak cooked up and served with a scoop of ice cream. There are single-ingredient options as well: A pile of burnt matches and a piece of coal each appear solo as simple (but uh, unexpected) dishes. Sure, it sounds strange, but the dishes are plated beautifully in the photos they look almost edible.

We can't really advocate you trying this one, TBH, though if you're craving this you could be experiencing pica, a condition that makes you crave nonfood items.
