"I eat what I want but small portions," says the model mama.
Coco Austin knows she looks good just nine months after welcoming her daughter, Chanel Nicole—but like so many new moms out there, she doesn't quite feel good yet. Coco opened up about her post-baby body during Chanel's nine-month photoshoot...and she spilled a few of her best secrets for staying fit after baby.
While celebrities are notorious for dropping baby weight in record time thanks to restrictive diets and rigorous workout plans, Coco's approach is actually pretty realistic. The model hasn't stepped into a gym in a while and regularly indulges in her favorite foods (like mac and cheese!)—she just exercises in moderation whenever possible.
"I personally haven't been in the gym in the past year and a half, two years because of Chanel. I stopped going to the gym when I was pregnant then I've waited nine months after so I literally just started getting back into the routine this week to tell you the truth," Coco, who is married to Ice-T, tells E! News. "I just watch what I eat. I don't overeat...I eat what I want, but small portions. I don't go overboard. Yes, I have the mac and cheese and I have my dessert, but I'm just trying to get back in the groove because I don't feel good inside yet."
That sounds pretty doable, right?
Coco made headlines during her pregnancy, with critics calling her out for having a "small" baby bump. Coco fired back then...and proudly showed off her incredible post-baby body just four days after she gave birth.
It's kind of crazy to think Coco got her amazing shape without logging tons of gym time....but let's not forget that she only gained 13 pounds during her pregnancy. Coco also counts breastfeeding as one of her best stay-fit secrets.
We can definitely relate to Coco's approach (haven't we all been tempted to nosh on the mac and cheese we make for our kids from time to time?) and know it's only a matter of time before she starts feeling as amazing as she looks!
