How Brie Bella Learned to Love Her 'New Curves' Post-Baby

Brie Bella's body has changed a bit since she got pregnant and gave birth to her baby girl—and while it didn't happen right away, she's embraced those changes.

As a professional wrestler, Brie Bella is obviously used to being ultra fit and in total control of her body. We imagine she never really worried about getting her body back to pre-baby shape because, well, exercising often is just her way of life.

But getting pregnant and eventually giving birth to her firstborn ushered in some physical changes Bella wasn't quite expecting. That's a pretty universal experience among new moms, many of whom just feel different after they've given birth. Bella got real about the issue in a recent Instagram post, where she shared how she ultimately learned to love her post-baby body.

It really took me awhile to love my new curves. After giving birth I honestly thought I'd bounce right back but no one ever told me that a 10lb precious little thing would take up every minute to every once of energy you have. I was being hard on myself for not making time for the gym, feeling guilty smashing a bag of popcorn while watching Netflix when I had my me time. I didn't know how to dress with my new body and was getting so frustrated that none of my old clothes were fitting. Finally I looked in the mirror and said F it, this is my new body and I'm going to love every bit of it!!! This body created a human and I couldn't be more grateful for that. A little help from my sister @thenikkibella on how to dress and I'm feeling better than I ever have. (Still getting use to my boobs 😳) Cheers to all the Moms and all the different stages of life we go through!! Ciao Bella 🍷❤️💋 * 📸 @vanity.claire

"It really took me a while to love my new curves," the mom to Birdie Joe Danielson wrote. "After giving birth I honestly thought I'd bounce right back but no one ever told me that a 10lb precious little thing would take up every minute to every ounce of energy you have. I was being hard on myself for not making time for the gym, feeling guilty smashing a bag of popcorn while watching Netflix when I had my me time."

Those are some pretty relatable points, right? Especially the one about popcorn and Netflix...

Eventually, Bella decided it was time to get on board with those curves, and she shared her secret to making that happen.

"Finally I looked in the mirror and said F it, this is my new body and I'm going to love every bit of it!!! This body created a human and I couldn't be more grateful for that," she shared. "A little help from my sister [Nikki Bella] on how to dress and I'm feeling better than I ever have. (Still getting [used] to my boobs 😳)"

The caption appeared alongside a series of photos featuring the star looking gorgeous in a velvet dress—and we think her point came across loud and clear in the photos themselves as well as the message that accompanied them. We loved Brie's point about enlisting her sister to help her dress those new curves. Maybe that's the secret: Finding a friend who can help you choose an outfit that makes you feel beautiful, sipping a glass of wine and embracing those changes instead of working to hide them away.

Bella, who appeared on Fit Pregnancy and Baby's cover during her pregnancy, opened up to us about her thoughts on losing the baby weight before she delivered. “I’ll definitely have weight to lose; I was 20 pounds up at 23 weeks along," she admitted. "My sister-in-law, who is a new mom, did great with that, though. I told her, ‘You haven’t worked out once, you’ve just breastfed for the last month and lost all your baby weight!’ That’s insane. I think it’ll be a lot harder for me, but I’m ready for the challenge.”

While she may have underestimated how tough it would be to find the time for those workouts, we say her tactic is a pretty great one. Sometimes the best thing a new mom can do is tell herself to accept those changes, put on a pretty dress and just rock it.
