As expected, mom and dad, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, gave the new royal a very regal name.
The new royal baby's name has been revealed: Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
The name was officially announced by Kensington Palace Officials two days after the parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, introduced their new bundle of joy to the world.
The princess was born on Saturday May 2nd at 8:34 BST (3:34 EST), weighing 8lbs 3oz.
Her official title is Her Royal Highness Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.
The name came as little surprise to fans of the royal family, as "Charlotte" had been the bookies' running favorite in recent days.
The little princess's middle names, "Elizabeth" and "Diana", give a poignant nod to the baby's great-grandmother and late grandmother.
What a regal name for a very regal baby! Welcome to the world, Princess Charlotte, and start working on your royal wave—your big brother Prince George has it down:
