Serena Williams Debuts Bump (And Pregnancy Glow!) at Met Gala

There's always one standout style star at the Met Gala—and if you ask us, Serena Williams was a major contender for that honor at 2017's event.

She may have just announced her pregnancy (accidentally, no less!), but one thing is already crystal clear: Serena Williams is crushing pregnancy. She had an athletic triumph (and a major career highlight) during her first trimester—and in doing so, she made a loud, clear statement that pregnant women can do anything. As if that weren't enough, the athlete also has red carpet bump style down to a science. She took her baby bump out on the town for last night's Met Gala, and she made a major splash among fashion's elite.

Serena's bump was on full display in her fitted halter Versace gown—we love that she opted for such a fun, sexy, formfitting look (because guess what? Pregnant women don't have to hide away in baggy, drab garments). The star was clearly feelin' herself, too: She shared a video in which she twirled around in the glamorous gown on her Instagram feed.

It wasn't just about the gown, though: Serena also had an unmistakable glow about her. The pregnancy glow (yes, it's a real thing!) definitely a played a role, but we were also struck by how happy and at peace she looked throughout the event. Serena touched upon this sentiment in a moving Instagram tribute to her baby, and after reading her words, it's easy to understand why the star looked so (no pun intended) serene.

She and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, are set to become parents in the fall—and we can't wait to see which aspect of pregnancy Serena masters in the meantime.
