This Preggo Put Her Bump on FULL Display at The MTV VMAs

That's one way to flaunt a bump.

The most dramatic fashion moment from the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards didn't come from Kim Kardashian West or Rihanna: This year, all eyes were on Laura Perlongo.

Perlongo, who is engaged to Catfish star Nev Schulman, did something truly eye-catching and flaunted her baby bump in a big, bold way. Laura wore an army-green bomber jacket, which she left unbottoned, fastened only with a sparkly silver chain across the chest. Her entire bump was completely exposed.

Unsurprisingly, people are slamming the mom-to-be for her fashion choice, which is both annoying and unfair. After all, how many times have we seen non-pregnant starlets expose their midriffs at events? This particular event is a young, edgy one, and celebrities often opt for daring looks when they walk MTV's red carpet. Why should a pregnant woman be held to a different standard?

The upside of all this? Perlongo seems to have a tremendously supportive partner by her side. “I’m just so happy to be the guy on the red carpet with the pregnant lady who is killing it, just looking incredible,” Schulman told PEOPLE during the event. “She was already beautiful and now she’s, like, times-10 beautiful.”

Perlongo, who is expecting a baby girl, shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram back in May.

What do you think of Laura's bump-baring look? Granted, it's a bold choice—but we find this preggo's confidence pretty refreshing. Do you?
