Why This 'Bachelorette' Star Feels Most Like Herself After Baby

A former Bachelorette shared an Instagram shot detailing her sentiments towards her postpartum body—and it's a relatable (yet postive!) message.

Adjusting to your postpartum reflection can be disorienting. Maybe there's weight that wasn't there pre-pregnancy, or maybe giving birth left you with marks or dimples you never had. Maybe your hair is thinner thanks to those shifting hormones. Maybe raising your beautiful baby puts dark bags under your eyes.

But being a new mom also has a way of changing the way you see yourself—and for many moms, it's a time of self-love. And you know what? It should be.

That's why we're into a recent post from Bachelorette alum Desiree (Hartstock) Siegfried. The new mama shared a selfie with a long caption reflecting on her postpartum reality, and she admits she's never felt better in her own skin than she does now.

I've got a crooked smile, tired eyes, postpartum hairs that stick straight up, a comfy Tee I picked up from Wal-mart and I couldn't feel more like myself. Being a mother and caring for someone who needs you more than anything or anyone else in the world makes priorities change in such a rewarding way - I might have (many) days of comfy clothes, second (or third) day hair with no makeup on and yet I feel more beautiful and comfortable in my own skin than ever before just being able to nurture my baby and care for my hubby.- (and play with my fur baby- can't forget about Frankie!) • There are seasons in life that bring about a sense of strength and security and for you that might look completely different.. a new career, a move, a relationship or friendship, even a new haircut. Whatever it is- embrace it and feel beautiful being you in each and every season of life because it is in these moments right now that can bear the most fruit in our lives and in others. 😘#randomramblings #nighttimereflections #goodnight #sleeptight #beyoutiful #yesyou xoxo

Can you relate to this message? Seeing physical changes after you give birth can be surprising, and if you ever find yourself wishing you could feel more like your pre-baby self...well, that's completely natural. But motherhood changes everything, and if you have a few physical changes as a result, well, shouldn't they just serve as reminders of the amazing things you've done for your baby?

Did becoming a mom make you feel more beautiful than ever?
