A 53-year-old Swiss mogul—related to Julia Louis-Dreyfus—successfully gave birth to a healthy pair of twins. Mother and baby are doing well, according to reports.
Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, the Swiss billionaire behind international trading firm Louis-Dreyfus, has given birth to twin girls.
Here's the shocking part: Louis-Dreyfus is 53 years old.
Louis-Dreyfus is one of the wealthiest women in the world—she took over the Louis-Dreyfus company after her husband, Robert Louis-Dreyfus died of leukemia in 2009. And yes, she's distantly related to actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
According to her company, "mother and babies are doing well." Louis-Dreyfus has three other children.
We've previously reported that "middle-aged motherhood" is on the rise—more women are giving birth after 40 than ever before. That's not to say that getting pregnant later in life is easy or without difficulties—but despite the fact that health risks can come hand-in-hand with late-in-life pregnancies, it seems as though Louis-Dreyfus pulled through beautifully.
