How Fit Mom-to-be Emily Skye is Embracing Her Body's Pregnancy Changes

Fitness star Emily Skye is super fit, but pregnancy is changing her body. And the Australian mama-to-be is just fine with that.

Emily Skye has made a name for herself on social media thanks to her crazy-toned physique and commitment to fitness. A few weeks ago, the Australian star announced she's pregnant, and she's been churning out candid social media posts about the ways her body is changing ever since.

Skye is definitely a woman who is accustomed to having a six-pack, tons of strength and very little body fat. But now that she's pregnant, the body she worked so hard to achieve is changing. And you know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. To her credit, Skye isn't complaining and is actually loving it all.

🤰🏼 #16weekspregnant . I have cellulite on my butt & thighs & my muscle mass & strength continues to decrease... but you know what?! I'm absolutely loving all of the changes my body (& mind) is making. I know many women struggle with bodily changes during pregnancy and I probably would have too years ago but now I'm completely embracing and celebrating these changes. Every little change excites me and makes me happy because I'm growing @recdedmond's & my little person which is incredible! 😃 I know going through these changes can be difficult for many people but just remember the BIG picture & what is truly most important. How we look or having some extra body fat or cellulite is insignificant. I know I've said this before but I just want to remind you all (pregnant or not) that you are amazing and beautiful and how much body fat you have doesn't change that. It's always good to get some perspective and remind yourself of what's most important in life. 😊💗 . .

Most recently, the fitness star shared a shot of herself in a bikini, with her growing baby bump on display. She's clearly proud of her body (as she should be—she's growing a whole human in there!) and is embracing every physical change that comes with pregnancy.

"I have cellulite on my butt & thighs & my muscle mass & strength continues to decrease... but you know what?! I'm absolutely loving all of the changes my body (& mind) is making," Skye captioned the photo. "I know going through these changes can be difficult for many people but just remember the BIG picture & what is truly most important. Flashback to my pre pregnancy body - which will be my “goal” once I pop this bub out and can get back to training hard again! 😀 Mommies, how long was it until you could exercise after giving birth? . You know what’s absolutely crazy? At the time of taking these pics (in my bath tub using a tripod and timer mind you haha) I didn’t think I was lean at all. I now look at these pics and I’m surprised at how lean I was! It’s crazy how sometimes we just can’t see ourselves how we truly are or how others might see us. I can have such a warped perspective of myself sometimes. Hey, I’m working on it though and have already come a long way - I think being pregnant has helped a LOT with this actually! 🙂 . Since becoming pregnant I feel like I got extreme bloating, fluid retention and cellulite straight away. This doesn’t concern me in the slightest though, it’s all part of growing a human and I feel sooo incredibly blessed. All of these not so fun things that come with pregnancy are insignificant. My health and my baby’s health is most important and that’s what I’m focussing on. 🙂 I’m so blown away by what my body can do! It’s incredible! . I have 6 months to wait to meet my little one, I feel like it’s such a long time to wait, but I'm told it flies by! Aaah I can’t wait! 😀 . .

The fitness star even admitted that in some ways, pregnancy has ushered in a stronger sense of self and allowed her to appreciate her former physique more as well. "It’s crazy how sometimes we just can’t see ourselves how we truly are or how others might see us. I can have such a warped perspective of myself sometimes. Hey, I’m working on it though and have already come a long way - I think being pregnant has helped a LOT with this actually!" she wrote alongside a pre-pregnancy photo.

Obviously, it's totally normal to feel a bit thrown when you see your body changing every day. Pregnancy is no joke, and it often ushers in some seriously unpredictable physical changes—like, you expect your belly to grow, but who is really prepared to gain four bra cup sizes in a matter of weeks? But ultimately, all these crazy changes are just part of the weird, wacky, wonderful business of growing babies. We should all be inspired by Emily Skye's body acceptance and remember that.
