Why just photograph Mom when you can use her growing belly to make landscapes? You'll LOL at the creative way this couple is documenting their pregnancy.
We've seen quite a few cute pregnancy photo shoots, but a new photo series by one talented German photographer and his pregnant (and patient!) girlfriend is definitely the most creative.
Simon Schaffrath and girlfriend Saskia Repp are expecting their first child—a son they're naming Theodore—next month. In the meantime, the pair is documenting her growing belly with a series of photos that feature her belly and breasts as "landscapes." Let us explain.
The 27-year-old photographer is transforming Repp's belly and boobs into snow-capped hills, golf greens and even a beach featuring sharks and seagulls created by using a lot of paint and a little Photoshop ingenuity. "We wanted to create some new and really creative pregnancy pictures," Schaffrath told Mashable of his inspiration for the project, "something our family and friends haven't seen yet."
Each photo takes some time to pull off between planning, photography and editing. Luckily, friends have been there to help every step of the way.
And, not to mention, Repp has been a good sport about her body being used as a canvas over and over again. "These pictures show how much we enjoy this time and how happy we are," said Schaffrath. "And that's something the whole world should know! My girlfriend loves them and she is really happy we have something that will always remember us this special time."
Judging from these shots, little Theodore has won the Cool Parents Lottery. Will his baby photos turn out just as awesome? That's pretty much a given!
