Moms know that parenting is essentially all about multitasking—but this woman took it to the next level. #pumpinggoals
Melissa Bressler is like so many moms out there: She's juggling her duties as a mother alongside her job, in this case as a radiation therapist. Her story is one that so many women will relate to and a photo of Bressler that's surfaced online is the perfect example of what it means—and what it takes—to be a working mom.
Breastfeeding Mama Talk, a support page on social media, shared a photograph of Bressler mixing her life as a mother with her career: She's eating a deskside lunch, working on a computer and pumping breast milk with a hands-free pumping bra all at the same time. Basically, it's mommy #goals.
"I work at a radiation oncology center that is open in the afternoon to treat patients," Bressler, who has a one-year-old daughter, told The Huffington Post. "Some mornings I get to work early so that I can be better prepared for the day... My coworker walked up on this scene and was so thrilled she requested to take a picture to send to her sister because they are both so pro-breastfeeding and pumping."
Her photo has recieved over 11,000 likes and so many comments from users voicing their support for the young mom. Bressler had her work cut out for her: Her baby had a hard time latching and they used a lactation consultant to solve the issue. She was in school when she gave birth and was only able to take off two weeks when she had her baby.
"I hope other women are inspired that they too can still provide breast milk for their baby even if they are a student or working mother. It is important for women to know there are resources available," she said.
