A little foil in her hair couldn't keep this midwife from rushing to help her client deliver a baby!
We all know that babies don't always arrive right on schedule. In fact, mamas have found themselves going into labor on flights, during natural disasters and in other less-than-ideal situations. But while we're aware of how stressful this can be for the parents, one thing we tend to forget is that the people who help us deliver our babies often find themselves called to action at inconvenient times, too.
Case in point: Midwife Carrie Hall scheduled a hair appointment while she was on call—she was working with a woman whose labor appeared to moving slowly, and she presumably thought she'd have enough time to have her hair done. But things didn't quite work out that way: Hall received a phone call in the middle of her appointment...and despite the fact that she literally had foil in her hair, she bolted to go assist with the delivery.
Hall shared her photo with her alma mater, Frontier Nursing University, along with the message "1st time for everything! Thought I'd share! I was at the salon and nature called!"
The school shared the shot of the midwife doing her thing with her hair still wrapped in foil on its Facebook page. Followers expressed concern about the state of the midwife's hair in the post's comment section, but rest assured: It sounds like both the delivery and the highlights were successful.
"The patient was ready to push when I arrived," Hall told Fit Pregnancy. "Luckily, the patient delivered within 20 minutes. I then got back in my car, went back to the shop and finished my hair! Needless to say, Momma, Baby, and my hair are great!"
